SEMAS has been operating the "SEMAS AI Campus" for all employees from March to June of this year to strengthen education in response to advances in digital technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and big data. This competition was organized to showcase the results of the AI training programs conducted so far and to spread outstanding achievements throughout the organization.

The SEMAS AI Campus provided basic training in generative AI theory and practice over 18 sessions, with 414 participants, followed by advanced training on six topics closely related to SEMAS operations, which 220 employees completed. Subsequently, nine projects selected through a preliminary evaluation of individual assignments submitted by those who completed the advanced training advanced to the competition.

During the competition, each of the nine projects was presented individually, and a panel of internal and external experts evaluated the projects based on planning ability, completeness, and scalability. As a result, three teams were selected as final outstanding cases. The Grand Prize went to "SojeongON," a GPT-4o-based AI policy fund counseling chatbot, which was recognized for surpassing the limitations of the existing small business counseling chatbot "Sodambot." By utilizing the latest AI technologies such as handling repetitive conditional queries, providing 24-hour automated counseling, supporting multiple languages, and automatically analyzing documents, the accessibility of policy funds for small businesses was dramatically improved. It was also noted that the quality and efficiency of counseling improved compared to previous chatbots, as the system can simultaneously analyze complex conditions such as business type, sales, and number of employees to recommend customized policy funds.

In addition, the AI-powered rehabilitation and bankruptcy claim management system "My Case Search Crawling" (Excellence Award) and the disaster management automation work guide "Disaster Safety AI Agent" (Encouragement Award) were also recognized.

SEMAS plans to award the winners with prizes and certificates. In addition, the organization will provide external expert consulting to help apply the achievements in practice and will actively support participation in AI competitions organized by various government departments and the private sector.

Park Sunghyo, President of SEMAS, said, "Through the SEMAS AI Campus, our employees' digital capabilities have greatly improved, and this competition was a meaningful opportunity to confirm those achievements," adding, "We will continue to strive to implement small business support policies that can be truly felt in the field through ongoing innovative training."
