Gyeonggi Province Holds Second Special Lecture of Lifelong Reading Project with Poet Moon Jeonghee

Gyeonggi Province held its second special lecture as part of the "Lifelong Reading Project" by inviting poet Moon Jeonghee to the main conference room of Bundang District Office in Seongnam City on the 12th.

During the lecture, titled "At That Age, How Could They Have Written Such Poems?", Moon Jeonghee focused on the works created at the age of twenty-three by some of the most prominent poets in Korean literary history, including Kim Sowol, Yun Dongju, Baek Seok, and Seo Jeongju. She revisited the sensitivity, language, and creative spirit of that period, while also sharing stories from her own youth and lifelong creative journey.

Last June, Gyeonggi Province held its first lecture by inviting Dr. Jung Hyeshin, an expert in psychological healing.

Park Mingyeong, Director of Library Policy at Gyeonggi Province, stated, "We hope that the special lectures organized by Gyeonggi Province will not only spark interest in reading among residents but also lead to a reading craze," adding, "We will continue to host special lectures to promote a reading culture in the province."

With the core vision of "Changing Lives Through Practical Reading of a Thousand Books," Gyeonggi Province is running a variety of reading culture programs throughout the year, including 16 book busking events, 8 special lectures, and ritual challenges, to help people experience self-reflection and expanded relationships through books.
