Inspection Focused on Gimhae Industrial Complex Areas
Intensive Verification of Compliance with the Five Key Heatwave Prevention Rules
The Yangsan Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor (Director Kwon Guhyung) conducted a heatwave prevention patrol on July 12, focusing on industrial complexes in the Gimhae area where small-scale construction sites are concentrated, in order to prevent heat-related illnesses amid consecutive days of extreme heat.

The patrol that day targeted sites with a high proportion of outdoor work, such as new factory construction and road maintenance. At these sites, bottled water was provided to workers, and a thorough inspection was carried out to ensure compliance with the "Five Basic Heatwave Safety Rules": water, shade and ventilation, rest, cooling gear, and emergency measures.
In addition, heatwave prevention kits were distributed to very small construction sites, and guidance was provided on emergency procedures that can be used in case of an urgent situation.
The Yangsan Branch is conducting ongoing inspections of high-risk workplaces, such as those in construction and logistics, until the end of September. In particular, a cooperative system has been established with relevant organizations, including local governments and fire stations, to enable immediate on-site inspections if a heat-related illness occurs.
Director Kwon Guhyung stated, "Because there are many outdoor workers at construction sites, it is more important than ever to comply with heatwave safety rules," adding, "In particular, when the perceived temperature exceeds 33 degrees Celsius, we will do our utmost to ensure that workers take at least a 20-minute break every two hours."
