What the Shaman Told Lee Kyungkyu After the "Drugged Driving Controversy"

Mentioned in the "Godgyeonggu" YouTube Channel Video

Comedian Lee Kyungkyu, who caused a traffic accident while driving someone else's car under the influence of medication for panic disorder, has spoken out about the "drugged driving controversy."

On July 10, a video titled "Lee Kyungkyu Faces the Biggest Crisis of His Life and Hears a Shocking Message from a Famous Shaman" was uploaded to the YouTube channel 'Godgyeonggu.'

The video shows Lee Kyungkyu visiting a shaman for a fortune reading. The production team said, "There are many viewers in the comments expressing concern. Could you say something to them?" This appears to reference the controversy surrounding Lee Kyungkyu's alleged drugged driving.

At the end of the video, Lee Kyungkyu also indirectly shared his feelings about the recent controversy. He joked, "The last thing you should worry about in this world is a celebrity." He added, "I appreciate how much you are all concerned about me, but wouldn't it be even better if you subscribed? Subscribing is the best remedy for panic disorder."

Additionally, in a pinned comment on the YouTube channel, Lee Kyungkyu wrote, "Dear YouTube family, I'm fine. The only thing I wish for is more views."

In the video, Lee Kyungkyu said, "I rarely get my fortune read, but I think this is the first time in over twenty years. I'm a bit nervous. It feels like being at the hospital. I just have a few worries. I'll think of this as a counseling session. I'm trembling."

The shaman, upon seeing Lee Kyungkyu, said, "Aren't you someone who has always relied on me? There is a Buddha behind you. You look like a Buddha. If you continue to believe in such spirits, I think you will achieve great enlightenment."

He also had his saju and tarot read by the fortune teller. The fortune teller said, "You are truly stubborn. You never listen to anyone. Whether it's good or bad, I only speak based on what I see in the writing. If you get upset, I won't say anything, but it'll show on your face first. You can never lie to anyone."

The fortune teller continued, "Next year, you need to manage your money carefully. If you make any new investments, it will lead to losses. You'll lose your money and end up looking foolish. According to your saju, you need to take care of your liver at your age. You shouldn't drink too much. Your body tends to be cold. Even though you're a man, avoid food that is too cold or greasy."

Previously, Lee Kyungkyu was sent to the prosecution without detention on July 2 for driving under the influence of prescribed medication for panic disorder in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. At the time, he was reported on suspicion of theft after driving off in someone else's car that was the same model and color as his own. A drug test came back positive.

CCTV footage from the incident shows that on June 8, around 12:00 p.m., Lee Kyungkyu caused a minor accident by hitting a parked bus in an alley in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. He got out of the car and staggered along the road instead of the sidewalk, causing two cars behind him to narrowly cross the centerline to avoid him.

At a car wash, when an employee signaled him to reverse, he instead accelerated forward and crashed into a wall. After leaving the car wash, he crossed the centerline and made an illegal left turn on a road without traffic lights.

After finishing his medical appointment, Lee Kyungkyu went to a parking lot 20 meters away from where he had actually parked, took someone else's car, and left the scene. He later explained that he had suffered from panic disorder for 10 years and had taken his prescribed medication the day before the incident. He said that he was not feeling well and drove himself to the hospital, admitting, "There is no excuse for my carelessness."

Meanwhile, Article 45 of the Road Traffic Act prohibits driving when normal operation is impaired due to drugs. Even prescribed medication can be considered a violation of this law if it reduces concentration or cognitive function.
