This event, attended by approximately 200 people including local government administrators, urban regeneration practitioners and experts, and members of intermediary support organizations from across the province, served as a preparatory event for the successful implementation of the '2026 Year of Visit Yangsan,' which marks the 30th anniversary of Yangsansi's elevation to city status.
By introducing Yangsansi's major attractions and content, such as Tongdosa, Hwangsan Park, and Naewonsa Valley, the city aims not only to attract tourists, but also to boost the local economy, spread cultural values through urban regeneration projects, and foster civic pride, ultimately enhancing Yangsansi's overall competitiveness.
In particular, the city drew attention from participants by presenting examples of tourism hubs linked to urban regeneration projects since 2019, sharing the potential for urban regeneration hub facilities to become valuable local tourism resources.
A city official stated, "Through this workshop, we will widely promote the '2026 Year of Visit Yangsan' to urban regeneration stakeholders throughout the province, and continue to cooperate so that Yangsan's nature, history, and sensibility, in connection with related institutions, can enable urban regeneration hubs to function as central spaces for local tourism."
