According to the Seoul Western District Court on July 11, the court accepted a provisional seizure application filed by Jung Hyunjung, CEO of the football agency MadeinFootball, who demanded the payment of a commission from Lingard. As a result, the provisional seizure of Lingard's bank account has been in effect since last month.
Lingard, a former Manchester United player in the English Premier League (EPL) and member of the England national team, made headlines when he transferred to FC Seoul in February last year through the arrangement of CEO Jung. The commission Jung was to receive amounts to approximately 360 million won, which is about 5% of Lingard's annual salary of 1.82 billion won for last season.
However, Lingard refused to pay the commission, citing differences between the conditions he was told by CEO Jung and the actual terms of the contract, which led to a legal dispute.
It is currently reported that CEO Jung and FC Seoul have reached an agreement, and Lingard's salary is being paid normally.
Lingard, who has recorded 5 goals and 3 assists in the K League 1 this season, is currently participating in FC Seoul's training camp during the break in Sokcho, Gangwon Province.
