On July 11, KBS announced that it will host a solo concert for singer Cho Yongpil in celebration of the 80th anniversary of Liberation this year.
Marking the 57th year since his debut, Cho Yongpil will present a solo stage at KBS for the first time in 28 years through the "80th Anniversary of Liberation KBS Grand Project - Forever This Moment Cho Yongpil," following his last solo performance on the KBS "Big Show" in 1997.
The concert will be held free of charge at Gocheok Sky Dome on September 6, and is scheduled to be broadcast on KBS 2TV during the Chuseok holiday period.
KBS stated, "We have knocked on Cho Yongpil's door for years, making repeated earnest requests in hopes of making this stage happen," and added, "It is a great honor for us as a public broadcaster to present such a special stage to the people."
