"Positive Impact on Local Economy"... Dongjak-gu to Issue Additional 2 Billion KRW in Dongjak Sarang Gift Certificates for Seoul International Garden Expo

Available for Purchase Starting at 10 a.m. on July 14

Dongjak-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Park Ilha), will issue the second round of the '2025 Seoul International Garden Expo Dongjak Sarang Gift Certificate' worth 2 billion KRW, starting at 10 a.m. on July 14.

This measure follows the early sell-out of the first batch, worth 3 billion KRW, released in June, and the subsequent requests from residents for additional issuance. The first round of gift certificates received an enthusiastic response from citizens, with half of the total amount?1.5 billion KRW?sold within just three hours of release.

In particular, an average of approximately 39 million KRW was spent daily, and more than 36% of the issued amount has already been used for actual payments, significantly contributing to revitalizing the commercial districts near the expo venue.

This second round of gift certificates can be purchased at a 10% discount, up to a monthly limit of 500,000 KRW per person, through the 'Seoul Pay+' app. The maximum holding limit per individual is 1.5 million KRW. The certificates can be used at Dongjak Sarang Gift Certificate affiliated stores in Daebang-dong, Sangdo 3-dong, Sindaebang 1-dong, and Sindaebang 2-dong, all located near the expo venue.

The usage period is until October 20, the closing date of the expo. If more than 60% of the purchased amount is used within the validity period, the remaining balance can be refunded. After the expo ends, the entire unused balance can be refunded without conditions upon request.

Meanwhile, the district has signed an agreement with the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Dongjak-gu branch of the Korea Foodservice Industry Association to hold a restaurant discount event for visitors participating in the expo's 'Garden Tour.'

Park Ilha, Mayor of Dongjak-gu, stated, "The Dongjak Sarang Gift Certificate, specially launched in conjunction with the expo, has received an explosive response and is energizing the local commercial districts. We will continue to implement various policies to revitalize the local economy."
