A Total of 70 Recipients Will Be Selected
Applications Must Be Submitted by July 17
Dobong District in Seoul is partnering with the Kiturami Cultural Foundation to launch a scholarship program for outstanding students in the area. The total amount for this scholarship program is 50 million won, and the funding comes from the Kiturami Cultural Foundation, which was established through a personal donation by Choi Jinmin, the founder of Kiturami Group.
The program targets students from middle school to university within the district who have demonstrated exceptional achievements in academics or talents, or who have maintained their commitment to learning despite difficult circumstances. Scholarships will be awarded in four categories: Achievement, Talent, Hope, and Exemplary Conduct, with a total of 70 recipients. Middle school students (43 recipients) will receive 500,000 won each, high school students (24 recipients) will receive 1 million won each, and university students (3 recipients) will receive 1.5 million won each.
The selection of scholarship recipients will be conducted fairly. For the Achievement category, academic performance will be considered. For the Talent category, awards in arts, sports, or technical competitions will be taken into account. For the Hope category, students who are recipients of basic livelihood security or belong to low-income families as defined by the National Basic Living Security Act will be considered. For the Exemplary Conduct category, recommendations from school principals based on contributions to school development will be evaluated.
Applications must be submitted with the required documents to the Education Support Division of Dobong District Office either in person or by mail by July 17. The foundation will review the application documents, and the final results will be individually notified to the selected recipients in August. The scholarship and certificate award ceremony is scheduled to be held in September at Seoninbong Hall on the 2nd floor of Dobong District Office.
Further details about the scholarship program can be found on the Dobong District website. For inquiries, contact the Education Support Division of Dobong District Office at 02-2091-2323.
