This program was designed to provide practical career exploration and employment information to veterans seeking jobs in the welfare sector. Park Sunhee, the mentor and secretary-general of the welfare center, shared her experiences and know-how in preparing for employment after discharge, and gave a lecture on the current job landscape.
The participating veterans had the opportunity to observe social welfare practices within the institution firsthand, allowing them to gain a sense of the field and better understand the various roles and responsibilities in the social welfare sector.
One attendee said, "I have always been interested in social welfare, but it felt vague to me. Through today's experience, I was able to set a concrete career direction and gain confidence in preparing for employment."
The Daegu Veterans Support Center provides customized career transition support programs for veterans who have served for five years or more in mid- to long-term positions. These include employment and entrepreneurship workshops, specialized commissioned training, career transition grants, and support for vocational competency development education expenses.
