Andong City Council Culture and Welfare Committee Inspects Newly Built Veterans Hall On the 10th, the Culture and Welfare Committee of Andong City Council in Gyeongbuk conducted an on-site inspection of the newly constructed Veterans Hall.

This visit was part of the council's legislative activities aimed at improving the practical welfare of national merit recipients and their families. The committee directly checked the operational readiness of the Veterans Hall to ensure its functions and roles can be performed smoothly and discussed areas in need of improvement.

The newly constructed Veterans Hall is a four-story building that will house a total of nine veterans' organizations. Each organization will have its own dedicated office space as well as shared convenience facilities. From the second to the fourth floors, veterans' organizations will be moving in, and the hall is expected to serve as a central hub for regional veterans' policies in the future.

The on-site inspection was attended by 14 people, including members of the Culture and Welfare Committee, staff from the City Council Secretariat, and officials from Andong City Hall. Additionally, representatives from seven of the veterans' organizations scheduled to move in participated and directly shared their opinions on current issues.

During the meeting, various issues faced by the organizations ahead of their move were raised, including limited office space, insufficient parking spaces, lack of accessibility for people with disabilities and the elderly, and the need to improve shared convenience facilities.

Kwon Kiyoon, Chair of the Culture and Welfare Committee, stated, "The Veterans Hall is a space that symbolizes the pride and honor of those who have dedicated themselves to the nation, and the environment should reflect that significance." He added, "The council will spare no effort in providing budgetary and policy support."

Andong City plans to actively review additional improvements based on the on-site feedback received before the full operation of the Veterans Hall begins. The city also announced its intention to establish a sustainable operational system through cooperation and communication among the veterans' organizations.
