Gyeonggi Province Holds Northwest Region Medical Council Meeting... Establishes Care System Centered on Ilsan Hospital

Gyeonggi Province, in collaboration with the Gyeonggi Emergency Medical Support Group, held the 'Northwest Region Emergency Medical Council' at the National Health Insurance Service Ilsan Hospital on the 10th.

More than 50 officials attended the meeting, including representatives from public health centers and fire stations in Goyang, Paju, and Gimpo, as well as emergency medical institutions and Dalbit Children's Hospital. They discussed various topics, including measures to coordinate medical services within the northern region, cooperation in emergency patient transfer systems, and the sharing of medical resources. The discussions focused on strengthening collaboration among related organizations to ensure a stable medical care system in northern Gyeonggi Province.

Yoo Youngcheol, Director of the Health and Wellness Bureau of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "For pediatric emergencies and high-risk deliveries, rapid intervention is directly linked to saving lives, making a 24-hour specialized response system essential." He added, "Gyeonggi Province will further strengthen the collaborative medical care system centered on Ilsan Hospital to address medical service gaps in the northern region and do our utmost to protect the lives and health of residents."

Previously, Gyeonggi Province allocated 1.76 billion won to the relatively underdeveloped medical infrastructure in northern Gyeonggi, launching a full-scale system for severe pediatric emergencies and high-risk deliveries.

In May, Gyeonggi Province designated the National Health Insurance Service Ilsan Hospital as the 'Pediatric Emergency Responsible Medical Institution' and provided 1.4 billion won in support. In addition, as a proactive measure to strengthen intensive care for the increasing number of high-risk mothers and newborns, the province provided an additional 360 million won in provincial funding for special medical allowances to the Northern Region Maternal and Child Health Medical Center at Ilsan Hospital.

As a result, Ilsan Hospital has established an emergency medical system specialized in pediatric and high-risk maternal care as a key institution in the northern region.
