On July 10, Gyeonggi-do held the "2025 Gyeongcheong Stars (Expanding Overseas Employment and Startup Opportunities for Gyeonggi Youth) Launch Ceremony" at the Gwanggyo Hall of the Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency, located in Suwon's Gwanggyo Techno Valley.
The Gyeonggi Youth Overseas Employment and Startup Opportunity Expansion Project is a program that offers young people in Gyeonggi-do, aged 19 to 39, who wish to work or start a business abroad, the chance to explore career paths through on-site experiences at overseas companies. This year, a total of 995 people applied, resulting in a competition rate of 4.9 to 1, and 200 participants were selected.
This year's experience destinations include a total of 14 locations in 13 countries: the United States (LA), Japan (Tokyo), Indonesia (Jakarta), Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh), Uzbekistan (Tashkent), India (Bengaluru), China (Chongqing, Guangzhou), Australia (Melbourne), Taiwan (Taipei), Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur), Thailand (Bangkok), Germany (Frankfurt), and Canada (Vancouver).
The 200 selected youths will participate in various four-week programs tailored to each region, including local business language and mentoring sessions, job training, trade marketing internships at local Korean companies, and participation in overseas exhibitions.
This launch ceremony was made even more meaningful by commemorating the 80th anniversary of Liberation. The Gyeonggi Sinawi Orchestra performed fusion Korean traditional music pieces that reflected on the significance of Liberation and supported Gyeonggi youth heading out into the world, receiving an enthusiastic response from participants.

Additionally, the event venue featured participation programs themed around the 80th anniversary of Liberation, such as the "Liberation Mini Game," as well as practical activities like "Job Profile Photo Shoot" and "Personal Color Diagnosis," which helped increase participant satisfaction.
Park Geungyun, Director of International Cooperation at Gyeonggi-do, stated, "We hope that through this project, young people will gain a wealth of experience and grow into global talents. Gyeonggi-do will do its utmost to support you so that your dreams can become reality."
Following the launch ceremony, Gyeonggi-do and the Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency will conduct the first round of pre-departure training for three days and two nights, covering overseas safety guidelines and international business etiquette. Starting from July 28, the main overseas experience programs will commence according to the schedule of each region.
Meanwhile, last year, a total of 197 young people?100 in July (first round) and 97 in November (second round)?participated in four-week on-site experiences at overseas companies in 13 cities across 12 countries.
