Seongju County Selects Two Consecutive National Representatives for Women's Taekwondo Team... Eunbin Kim and Minseon Son to Compete in Chuncheon and Germany

The Seongju County Office Women's Taekwondo Team has produced another national representative, following Minseon Son, who was selected in April this year as a member of the national team for the 2025 Rhein-Ruhr Summer World University Games. Based on competition performance, the Korea Taekwondo Association has selected Eunbin Kim as the national representative to participate in the 2025 WT World Cup Team Championship Series.


Of the two athletes selected as national representatives, Eunbin Kim competed in the 2025 WT World Cup Team Championship Series, which was held in Chuncheon from July 7 to 9, while Minseon Son is scheduled to compete in the 2025 Rhein-Ruhr Summer World University Games in Germany from July 16 to 27.

National representative Eunbin Kim won the gold medal in the women's team event (three-person team) at the 2025 WT World Cup Team Championship Series by defeating China.


In the final match, the second athlete to compete in the first round widened the score gap by scoring 25 points with a right-foot body attack and a downward kick to the head. Following this, Eunbin Kim secured the victory by successfully landing a back kick body attack on the opponent's front foot.


Park Eunhee, head coach of the Seongju County Women's Taekwondo Team, stated, "Not only have we produced two national team athletes, but we have also achieved remarkable results by winning 19 medals (7 gold, 2 silver, and 10 bronze) in the first half of the year alone. I would like to express my gratitude to the officials at Seongju County Office for their unwavering support, which has allowed our athletes to compete in optimal condition. We will continue to devote ourselves to training in order to become Korea's undisputed top professional taekwondo team."


Lee Byunghwan, Governor of Seongju County, said, "For the first time since its establishment in 2013, our women's taekwondo team has produced two national team athletes, which is an incredible achievement. I believe this accomplishment is the result of the athletes' outstanding abilities and perseverance, as well as the synergy created by the passionate coaching staff.
