The Center for Teaching and Learning Development at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology (President: Kim Youngdo, Director: Cho Chaeyoung) successfully held the "2025 Spring Semester DIT Humsung Mentoring Contest Presentations and Awards Ceremony" at the university's Industry-Academia Hall Active Learning Room on June 23.
This contest served as an opportunity to review the achievements of the DIT Humsung (Growing Together) Mentoring Program during the previous semester. It included presentations on the activities and outcomes of both the Major+ (Major Plus) Mentoring and Adaptation+ (Adaptation Plus) Mentoring programs, as well as a session for information exchange and communication aimed at further developing the program in the future.
The Major+ Mentoring of the DIT Humsung Mentoring Program is designed for outstanding students with strong academic capabilities to help their juniors and peers study challenging subjects. The Adaptation+ Mentoring program selects adult learners as mentees and supports them in adapting to campus life by providing essential information for classes and school life, as well as guidance on using mobile devices and PCs.
As a result of the public presentations and judging, Yoon Kyunam from the Department of Electrical Engineering received the Grand Prize in the Major+ Mentoring category. In addition, two teams received the Gold Prize, three teams received the Silver Prize, four teams received the Bronze Prize, and one team received a Special Prize.
Yoon Kyunam, who received the Grand Prize in the Department of Electrical Engineering, said, "It was already a meaningful experience to spend an enjoyable semester with my mentees, and I am very happy to receive such a major award. Through the Major Plus Mentoring program, I was able to share academic concerns and grow together with my mentees, which was very meaningful. I hope DIT Humsung Mentoring will continue to have a positive impact on many students."
Adult learner mentees from the Department of Real Estate Asset Management Information, who participated in the Adaptation Plus Mentoring and received the Gold Prize, commented, "We had difficulties adapting to university life, classes, and relationships with classmates at a later age, but this became a valuable time to share warmth between seniors and juniors."
Cho Chaeyoung, Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning Development, stated, "This year's DIT Humsung Mentoring Contest was especially meaningful as it included not only Major Plus Mentoring but also Adaptation Plus Mentoring to help adult learners adapt to university life. I hope today's contest experience will serve as a valuable foundation for each participant's future."
The Center for Teaching and Learning Development at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology actively conducts a variety of learning support programs and special lectures every year to support students' academic success. In addition to the DIT Humsung Mentoring Program, these include Community-Based Learning (CBL) and JUMP-UP for students on academic probation, among others.
