Event Celebrating the Production of the Disney+ Series
Kakao Entertainment is holding a contest for witty lines and fan art from "Pine" on KakaoPage from July 9 to July 16. To celebrate the adaptation of the webtoon "Pine" into a video series, the contest invites original fans to submit clever lines that fit key scenes and original fan art.
The original author, Yoon Taeho, will personally participate in the judging process. Ten winners of the line contest will receive a "Pine" print volume, while winners of the fan art contest will be awarded an iPad and a three-month Disney+ subscription.
"Pine" is a webtoon depicting the chaos that ensues when people from all over the country flock to Shinan after rumors spread about a sunken treasure ship, resulting in fierce competition among the so-called "country bumpkins." On July 16, a Disney+ original series adaptation starring Ryu Seungryong, Yang Sejong, and Lim Soojung will be released.
Yoon said, "Set in the 1970s, a time boiling with desire rather than a clear distinction between good and evil, I aimed to capture the atmosphere of that era in both the characters and the setting. I have high expectations, as I believe the series has fully conveyed this mood."
