Since Its First Launch in November Last Year, Customer Re-enrollment Rate Reaches 90%...
66% of All Subscribers Are in Their 30s or Younger
Offering a "Dopamine Banking" Experience
Through Engaging Stories and High Interest Rates
K Bank announced on July 10 that its "Curious Savings Season 3" has surpassed 150,000 accounts just one and a half months after its launch.
K Bank's Curious Savings Season 3 was introduced last month in collaboration with the global entertainment company Walt Disney Company Korea (Disney Korea), featuring "Lilo & Stitch" as the main characters.
Since its first launch in November last year, Curious Savings has continued through Season 3, recording a high customer re-enrollment rate of 90%. This demonstrates strong customer loyalty, especially when compared to the average re-enrollment rate of about 50% for typical savings products. This trend, where customers repeatedly re-enroll after their initial subscription, is referred to as "multiple enrollments."
One of the main factors driving customer re-enrollment is the effective incorporation of dopamine banking elements, which have recently gained popularity.
Dopamine banking refers to a strategy of increasing user engagement in banking apps by offering financial products and services that stimulate positive emotions in customers.
Dopamine banking is becoming a trend, particularly among younger generations who value fun and rewards. In fact, customers in their 30s or younger account for 66% of Curious Savings subscribers, reflecting strong enthusiasm from younger users.
Curious Savings is especially attractive due to its engaging new stories and high interest rates.
With Curious Savings, customers can deposit money daily to unlock a random interest rate and a short story, sparking curiosity and providing both enjoyment and rewards. Each season introduces new characters and stories, offering a fresh and entertaining experience.
Seasons 1 and 2 featured Dinotaeng as the main character, while Season 3 continues the storyline with Disney Korea's Lilo & Stitch. The ability to encounter a variety of cute new characters and stories each season, even with the same product, encourages customers to re-enroll.
Amid declining interest rates for deposit products across the financial sector, the high interest rate is another key attraction. Customers who make daily deposits over a one-month (31-day) period can earn an annual interest rate of up to 7.2%. The maximum daily deposit is 50,000 won, allowing a total of up to 1,550,000 won over 31 days.
Compared to parking accounts, whose interest rates have recently dropped to the mid-1% range, this offers more than double the interest rate over a one-month period.
A K Bank representative stated, "As each season passes, Curious Savings is becoming a product that not only provides financial benefits but also delivers new enjoyment, making customers want to re-enroll after their first experience. We plan to continue introducing differentiated deposit products unique to K Bank in the future."
