Galaxy Unpacked Event on July 9 Unveils Flip7
Larger Display... Equipped with Latest Exynos AP
Pre-orders Start July 15... Official Release on July 25
On July 9, Samsung Electronics unveiled the 'Galaxy Z Flip7,' featuring a compact design that fits comfortably in one hand and enhanced artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities. Even when closed, users can access key features such as Gemini Live more intuitively and easily, improving overall usability.
On July 9 (local time), Samsung Electronics introduced the new foldable phone Galaxy Z Flip7 at the 'Galaxy Unpacked 2025' event held at Duggal Greenhouse in Brooklyn, New York, USA.
First, the 'Flex Window' on the front has been expanded, making it more useful for replying to messages, playing music, and checking schedules. Google's real-time AI feature, Gemini Live, can also be easily used with voice commands on the Flex Window. It responds to everyday requests such as checking flight information, recommending nearby places, and registering schedules, and provides real-time assistance based on what the user is viewing through the camera sharing feature. The newly released Galaxy AI, based on One UI 8, is optimized for the Flip UX, enabling users to perform a variety of tasks intuitively on the Flex Window.
In addition, the 50-megapixel wide-angle camera and 12-megapixel ultra-wide dual camera are ideal for capturing landscapes or taking high-quality selfies directly from the Flex Window. The 'FlexCam' allows users to launch the camera directly from the Flex Window, and real-time filters are applied even when taking photos with the device closed. The zoom slider feature enables quick and easy zoom in or out with a single swipe.
The bezel has been reduced to 1.25mm, and the device supports a maximum brightness of 2,600 nits, up to a 120Hz refresh rate, and 'Vision Booster,' which automatically adjusts brightness according to the surrounding environment. For the first time in the Galaxy Z Flip series, a 4,300mAh battery has been installed, allowing for stable, long-lasting use. Notably, instead of Qualcomm's Snapdragon, Samsung has equipped the device with its own 'Exynos 2500' application processor (AP), marking a bold move.
For the first time in the Flip series, 'Samsung DeX' is supported, allowing the Flip7 to connect to external displays, a mouse, and a keyboard. While maintaining the compact design of the Flip, users can now perform various tasks such as document editing and presentations on a larger screen.
Furthermore, security has been enhanced across the device and network. Through Samsung's 'Knox Matrix,' the security environment has been strengthened throughout the Galaxy ecosystem. 'Keep,' newly introduced based on One UI 8, creates encrypted, independent storage spaces for each app to securely protect sensitive information. Quantum-resistant encryption has also been applied to Secure Wi-Fi, further enhancing security and privacy when using public networks.
Samsung Electronics will begin rolling out the Flip7 globally, including in Korea, starting July 25. Domestic pre-orders will be available for seven days from July 15 to July 21. The device will be released in three colors: Blue Shadow, Coral Red, and Jet Black. An exclusive Mint color, available only on Samsung.com and at 'Samsung Gangnam,' will also be offered.
The price is set at 1,485,000 won for the 256GB storage model with 12GB of memory, and 1,643,400 won for the 512GB model, with little difference from the previous generation. Samsung Electronics will offer a double storage benefit, upgrading the storage of customers who pre-order the 256GB Flip7 to the 512GB model free of charge.
