The Mokpo Fisheries Food Support Center Foundation Startup Incubation Center and the Jeonnam Bio Promotion Foundation Nano Convergence Medical Parts and Materials Startup Incubation Center are joining forces to revitalize the startup ecosystem in the Jeonnam region.
According to Mokpo City on July 9, the two institutions signed a business agreement on July 7 and plan to actively support the growth of startup companies and establish a cooperative framework for startup incubation.
This agreement aims to strengthen their roles as startup hubs in the Jeonnam region and to establish practical support measures for startups.
Under the agreement, the two centers will cooperate in various areas, including building networks and promoting exchanges among resident companies, sharing information and infrastructure related to startup incubation, and collaborating on policies to discover and nurture outstanding startups. In particular, they plan to form a working-level consultative body to identify joint projects and to implement practical support measures for startups, leveraging the specialized capabilities of both institutions.
Yoon Youngseung, Director of the Center, stated, "I hope this agreement will serve as a foundation for the stable growth of local startups, and I expect that the close cooperation between the two institutions will also contribute to revitalizing the regional economy."
Meanwhile, the Center was designated as a Business Incubation Center (BI) by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups in 2018 and has been operating a variety of incubation programs, including entrepreneurship education and commercialization support, for startups in the fisheries food sector.
