The Dong-A University Industry-Academia Cooperation Foundation announced on the 8th that it held the "Industry-Academia-Research Cooperation Forum for Creating a Regional Ecosystem in the Display Sector" on the 4th at the Grand Josun Busan Hotel in Haeundae, Busan. At the forum, participants explored the industrial linkage potential of next-generation display technologies centered on OLED, as well as strategies for joint response.

This forum was organized in connection with the Ministry of Education's "Glocal University 30" project and was hosted by the "Display Device Convergence Technology Development Support Center," which is the fifth branch of the joint university "Branch" operated by Dong-A University and Dongseo University. Notably, this center has designated display technology as a new specialized field for the university, initiating the expansion of an innovation ecosystem based on collaboration among local communities, industries, and universities.

During the event, representatives from key companies in display materials and devices, including LG Display, Dupont, and Idemitsu, gave presentations on topics such as strategies for developing OLED emitting layer technology, industrial applications of Tandem OLED, and strategies for responding to display-related policies. There was also active discussion on-site regarding talent development, technology commercialization, and regional collaboration models.

Kim Sungjae, Vice President of Dong-A University and Head of the Industry-Academia Cooperation Foundation, stated, "The display industry is a future growth engine that Busan must newly focus on," and added, "We hope this forum will serve as a hub for universities and companies to jointly realize technology development, talent cultivation, and policy integration."

In addition to displays, Dong-A University is also focusing on energy technology, human care, and cultural content as specialized strategies, and is actively expanding industry-academia cooperation models to ensure the successful establishment of the "Glocal University 30" initiative and the advancement of regional industries.
