On July 10, Gwangju and Jeonnam are expected to experience continued heat, with partly cloudy skies and daytime temperatures rising to as high as 35 degrees Celsius.
According to the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration, the region will be on the edge of a high-pressure system located over the northern East Sea, resulting in morning lows between 22 and 25 degrees Celsius and daytime highs ranging from 32 to 35 degrees Celsius.
In Gwangju and the western part of Jeonnam, brief showers of 5 to 30 millimeters may occur in the afternoon. Waves in the seas off the west and south coasts are expected to be relatively calm at around 1 meter, and ultrafine dust concentrations are forecast to remain at a 'good' level.
The Korea Meteorological Administration warned that the significant rise in temperatures during the day could increase the risk of heat-related illnesses, urging people to refrain from outdoor activities and to pay attention to food hygiene.
