On July 9, Gwangmyeong City signed a government-academic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Creative Management High School at the city hall's medium conference room to promote creative competency development and the activation of entrepreneurship.
This agreement was initiated to strengthen students' capabilities by linking school education with the city's startup policies, as Creative Management High School plans to establish an entrepreneurship department in 2028.
Under the agreement, the city will provide Creative Management High School students with practical startup education, mentoring, and expert consulting centered around the Startup Support Center. The two institutions plan to jointly pursue specific action items such as cooperation in entrepreneurship education activities, consulting on the establishment of entrepreneurship education programs, and collaboration in the operation and participation of joint programs.
Taking this agreement as an opportunity, the city plans to strengthen its support system throughout the entire startup process, including financial support for prospective entrepreneurs, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance)-oriented startup management consulting, and linkage with government support programs, to build a sustainable foundation for entrepreneurship.
Park Seungwon, Mayor of Gwangmyeong, said, "This agreement is an innovative model of cooperation between education and the local community to nurture future entrepreneurial talent," adding, "We will create a startup-friendly city where young people can realize their dreams."
