Gwangsan District in Gwangju has formed a dedicated task force (TF) to actively implement the government’s livelihood recovery consumption coupon program and will begin accepting applications starting July 21. Approximately 380,000 people are eligible for the program, which aims to boost consumption in local commercial districts and traditional markets.

On July 9, Gwangsan District announced the formation of the TF team, led by Deputy District Head Kim Seokwoong. The TF consists of nine departments and 21 neighborhood offices, and will work to ensure smooth operation of the consumption coupon program and maximize its impact on local economic recovery.


Starting July 21, the district will set up first-phase application and distribution counters at the 21 neighborhood administrative welfare centers and will deploy support staff for on-site operations. The district will also provide outreach services for elderly residents and those with limited mobility.


About 380,000 residents in Gwangsan District are eligible for support and can choose to apply using either a credit/debit card or the Gwangju Sangsaeng Card (prepaid). The coupons can be used until November 30. The district plans to actively promote the program to prevent missed applications and encourage the use of local businesses.
