Goseo-myeon in Damyang-gun, South Jeolla Province, announced on July 9 that medical staff from the volunteer club "Inphitiem" of Chonnam National University School of Dentistry recently carried out a "visiting oral care volunteer activity" for local residents.

About 40 students from Chonnam National University School of Dentistry participated in the volunteer event held at the Goseo-myeon Culture and Arts Center, providing a variety of services?including scaling (tartar removal), oral examinations, resin fillings, and denture cleaning and care education?to around 40 senior citizens and residents of Goseo-myeon.

This initiative was particularly helpful for rural residents who have difficulty accessing dental care. For the students, it was also a meaningful opportunity to put their dental knowledge and skills into practice through community service. One resident expressed gratitude, saying, "It was hard to travel far to a hospital, but I am thankful and reassured that they came here and provided direct care."

Kwon Sinhye, the president of the Inphitiem club, said, "I felt a great sense of fulfillment from the positive responses of the residents who received care," and added, "We will continue to seek out communities in need and carry on our volunteer activities in the future."
