BISTEP Wins Technology Management Leadership Award... "Driving Sustainable Regional Innovation"

The institute was highly praised for its contributions to building a regionally based innovation ecosystem.

This academic conference was held on July 4 at the Jade Hall of Maison Glad Jeju, under the theme "Evolution of the Deep Tech-Based Technology Commercialization Innovation Ecosystem." Discussions focused on how technologies in new industries such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology, advanced materials, and next-generation energy can be translated into economic and social value.

The Technology Management Leadership Award is given to organizations that contribute to the establishment of a sustainable innovation ecosystem. BISTEP was recognized for expanding Busan's science and technology policy infrastructure through science and technology-based policy planning, operation of regionally linked R&D projects, and the dissemination of technology management capabilities.

On the same day, BISTEP held a special session titled "The Local Era, Structural Transformation of Regional Science and Technology Innovation: Busan's Strategies and Challenges," where it shared the achievements of the Busan Research and Development Support Group Development Project and offered policy recommendations.

President Kim Youngbu stated, "As the dedicated policy agency for regional R&D, we will further strengthen our technology management capabilities and foster deep tech-based new industries to lead the expansion of the regional innovation ecosystem." He added, "We will also contribute to enhancing Busan's industrial competitiveness and improving the quality of life for its citizens."
