This program is designed for the general public interested in traditional culture and folklore, with the aim of widely promoting the excellence and uniqueness of Korean culture and cultivating 'professional cultural guides' who can lead traditional culture field tours. The curriculum consists of practical and theoretical education (13 sessions) by experts in each field and on-site visits (5 sessions), covering topics such as planning, operation, and post-management analysis of field trips, as well as the current status of major cultural assets across the country, so that participants can provide explanations of cultural heritage.
Currently, the National Folk Museum Association operates the 'Traditional Culture Guide Certification' system to enhance the professionalism and applicability of the training program, including explanations of major cultural assets nationwide and exhibitions at folk museums.
The lectures will be held every Thursday for three hours in the afternoon at the main auditorium of the National Folk Museum of Korea, from August to December. Applications will be accepted until all spots are filled before the program begins, and a total of 200 participants will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications can be submitted through the National Folk Museum Association website, by email, or by phone.
