In the future, when moving from the government portal Government24 to other services such as Bokjiro, users will be able to do so without additional authentication steps, making the process more convenient.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on July 9 that it will completely overhaul Government24 and relaunch it as Government24+ (Plus) starting July 10. After a pilot launch of Government24+ in April, the ministry has been working to stabilize the service.
With the revamped Government24+, users will be able to access key functions of government sites such as Bokjiro and Goyong24 directly, without separate authentication. Previously, Government24 only offered a simple link to the relevant portal when users searched for related services. Now, after logging into Government24+, users can move to the Bokjiro website to apply for services such as the Maternal and Newborn Health Management Service without any additional authentication. This change eliminates the previous three steps: moving from Government24 to a separate portal, searching for the service on that portal, and completing separate authentication.
In addition, services previously provided by individual administrative agencies, such as checking national tax payment records and health checkup results, can now be accessed directly within the Government24+ app. Users can also check the results of national and professional qualification exams, obtain the certificate of full payment for the four major social insurances, download the job registration confirmation, and apply for kindergarten tuition support?all without leaving the Government24+ site.
The revamped mobile app will launch on July 14. Previously, the Government24 app did not allow users to download documents, but now users will be able to download issued civil documents to their smartphones as password-protected files. The biometric authentication registration process, which previously required only a joint certificate, has also been simplified.
Furthermore, Government24+ has adopted "cloud-native" technology to ensure stable service with no access delays or service interruptions.
Kim Minjae, Vice Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, stated, "We will continue to improve digital government services to meet public expectations, including the introduction of AI-based intelligent search."
