On July 8, the KSD Nanum Foundation of Korea Securities Depository delivered relief supplies worth 60 million won to 400 households affected by wildfires in the Yeongnam region at the Silver Welfare Center in Yeongdeok County, North Gyeongsang Province.
This donation was made as a result of achieving the step donation goal for the 'Green Campaign,' which was conducted through the 'Bigwalk' app from June 3 to June 30.

A total of 12,218 employees of Korea Securities Depository and members of the public donated 842,211,449 steps, exceeding the donation goal of 100 million steps by 742%.
As a result, through the Milal Welfare Foundation, 400 households who lost their homes in the worst wildfires in the Yeongnam region in March received eco-friendly, high-efficiency cooling supplies to help them stay healthy during the summer, as well as support for purchasing food supplies to stabilize their daily lives.
Each year, through the 'Green Campaign,' the KSD Nanum Foundation introduces carbon reduction activities such as using public transportation, saving energy, and reducing household waste. It also promotes environmental awareness and participation in building a carbon-neutral society by encouraging the use of tumblers and certifying 'plogging' activities, which involve picking up trash while walking.
If the number of steps donated through this Green Campaign is converted into distance, it totals 589,548 kilometers, which is estimated to have the same carbon reduction effect as planting 18,662 30-year-old pine trees.
Lee Soonho, Chairman of the KSD Nanum Foundation, said, "I hope that today's small actions for the environment will come together to restore a healthy and green Earth for tomorrow."
