Gwangju Office of Education to Distribute "AI Education Materials" for High School Students in August Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education.

According to the office on July 9, this resource was developed in collaboration with the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology's AI Graduate School. It consists of a total of 50 sessions, including 24 core sessions and 26 elective sessions. The core materials explain AI concepts by drawing analogies with animals, while the elective materials focus on enhancing career paths and competencies, tailored separately for general high schools and vocational high schools.

"Dreaming AI" has been developed since last year with the joint participation of professors and researchers from the AI Graduate School, including Professor Kim Jongwon, as well as local teachers. To increase its applicability in real classrooms, the materials were tested and demonstrated with students and teachers. On July 5, a completion report meeting was held at the TED Hall of the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, where the resource was unveiled for the first time.

The materials for general high schools focus on developing creative problem-solving skills and career exploration. In contrast, the resources for vocational high schools emphasize strengthening adaptability to industrial sites and job-related competencies, and include content such as digital twins and robotics linked to industries in the Gwangju region. The office plans to finalize the materials by incorporating feedback from the report meeting and distribute them to schools in the second half of the year.
