The agreement was established so that Geumcheon District and Seoul Technopark can cooperate to create a new industry cluster based on advanced industries on the Air Force base site and foster it as a new economic hub in the southwestern region.

Under the agreement, the district has pledged to create an urban environment that facilitates business attraction and industrial development support, as well as to actively provide spaces for fostering new industries by utilizing public contribution facilities.

Seoul Technopark has agreed to collaborate on conducting research on industrial development strategies for the target site, establishing public support infrastructure such as a new Seoul Technopark Western Regional Headquarters, linking with small and venture businesses in G-Valley, and attracting leading companies capable of mutual growth.

The two organizations plan to form a task force (TF) for smooth project implementation, identify strategic industries to foster in the region, and establish a roadmap for attracting advanced industries, which will be pursued step by step.

Yoon Jongwook, Director of Seoul Technopark, stated, "We will build a business consultative body with Geumcheon District, Seoul City innovation and support agencies, analyze and select industries needed for the Air Force base site, and make efforts to attract leading companies."

Yoo Sunghoon, Mayor of Geumcheon District, said, "This agreement is expected to serve as an opportunity to strengthen Geumcheon District's competitiveness in future industries," adding, "Through close cooperation with Seoul Technopark, we will actively strive to attract future and advanced industries to the Air Force base site, creating a future where Geumcheon District and G-Valley companies can grow together."

Meanwhile, Seoul Technopark is a foundation supported by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Seoul Metropolitan Government, serving as a hub for academia-industry-government networks, creating new industries, and planning research and development (R&D) projects based on local demand.
