Rising Sun Flag Displayed on SRT Snack Box

A controversy has arisen over the inclusion of the Rising Sun flag on the snack box provided in the first-class compartment of the SRT high-speed train departing from Suseo. The issue is particularly contentious because the flag is depicted on the stern of the Geobukseon, prompting criticism that such a depiction is "unthinkable."
On July 9, Professor Seo Kyungduk of Sungshin Women's University stated on his Facebook page, "The top of the snack box says 'A Romantic Journey to Yeosu on the SRT,' and I received a report that the Rising Sun flag is displayed on the rear part of the Geobukseon."
He continued, "This is a very serious mistake. Placing the Rising Sun flag on Admiral Yi Sun-sin's Geobukseon is truly unthinkable," adding, "I urge the SRT to refrain from blaming the supplier, to acknowledge the failure in design management, and to sincerely reflect on this incident."
He also stated, "All of the problematic snack boxes should be discarded, and the issue should be corrected properly," adding, "Furthermore, every effort must be made to ensure that such an incident does not happen again."
Meanwhile, the SRT operates two trains daily from Suseo to Yeosu Expo Station (at 10:20 and 19:08). The seats are divided into first-class and standard class, with prices at approximately 46,000 won and 64,000 won, respectively.
Online commenters reacted by saying, "Even if it was a supplier's mistake, they must have reviewed the design?how could this happen?", "Of all things, having the Rising Sun flag on the Geobukseon is truly unacceptable," and "Responsibility must be determined and a proper explanation must be provided."
