190,000 Participants in the Last Four Years, Donations Exceeding 1 Billion KRW
The Largest Blood Donation Initiative Among Religious Organizations in Korea
Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (hereafter Shincheonji Church of Jesus), will conduct a nationwide blood donation campaign to share life from July 27 to October 18, spanning approximately 84 days.
This campaign has been organized to help stabilize the blood supply during a period when the number of blood donors sharply decreases, such as the summer vacation, holiday season, and Chuseok holiday.
In particular, the period from July 27 to September 18 is designated as the "summer intensive period," during which blood donations decline significantly due to the heat and vacations. From September 21 to October 18 is the "Chuseok holiday period." During both periods, a nationwide intensive blood donation campaign will be carried out. The target number of participants for this campaign is 10,000.
An official from the Korean Red Cross stated, "During the summer, group blood donations from high schools and universities decrease, and the blood supply tends to drop sharply before and after the holidays, making blood donation during this period even more urgent. We expect this blood donation campaign to greatly contribute to stabilizing the blood supply during the summer."
The blood donation campaign of Shincheonji Church of Jesus is not a one-time event but a nationwide life-sharing movement that has continued steadily for over 10 years. In particular, over the past four years, approximately 190,000 members have voluntarily participated in blood donation, and the total amount donated through blood donation vouchers has reached about 1 billion KRW.
This level of participation is recognized as a record-setting example that has made a tangible contribution to saving countless lives and is considered the largest blood donation initiative among religious organizations in Korea.
In recognition of these contributions, Lee Manhee, the leader of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, received a commendation for blood donation merit from the Korean Red Cross at the "2025 Blood Donor’s Day" commemorative event held on June 13. This commendation officially acknowledges not only participation in blood donation but also the long-term efforts to spread the culture of blood donation and contribute to the stable supply of blood.
Shincheonji Church of Jesus stated, "Just as one person's blood donation can save three lives, the participation of 190,000 people has given hope for life to countless individuals. We will continue to actively engage in blood donation campaigns to protect the lives of the people and become a church that practices sharing life."
