The special prosecution team led by Min Jungki, which is investigating allegations related to Kim Keonhee, demonstrated its commitment to a swift and thorough investigation by launching a sudden and simultaneous raid targeting those suspected of interference in candidate selection.

On July 8, Special Prosecutor Oh Junghui announced during a regular briefing, "In connection with allegations of improper interference in the 22nd National Assembly election and other related cases, we are conducting searches and seizures at about ten locations, including the residences and offices of Representative Yoon Sanghyun of the People Power Party, former lawmaker Kim Youngsun, and former Deputy Chief Prosecutor Kim Sangmin."
He added, "Given that there have been longstanding suspicions regarding candidate selection deals and improper election interference, we determined that a swift investigation was necessary, which is why we began the raids today. We will proceed quickly with the analysis of seized materials and the summoning and questioning of related individuals."
According to the Kim Keonhee Special Prosecutor Act, the scope of the investigation includes: allegations that Kim Keonhee improperly intervened in the 8th nationwide local elections, the 2022 by-elections, and the 22nd National Assembly election; as well as allegations that Kim Keonhee, Myung Taegyun, Geonjinbeopsa, and others engaged in illegal or false opinion polls and candidate selection deals in connection with the 21st National Assembly election, the 2021 by-elections, the 8th nationwide local elections, the 2022 by-elections, and the 22nd National Assembly election.
On the morning of July 8, the special prosecution team dispatched investigators to Representative Yoon's office and residence, former lawmaker Kim's residence in Changwon, and the residence of former Deputy Chief Prosecutor Kim, who had sought to run in the National Assembly election, to secure relevant materials.
Based on the materials obtained that day, the special prosecution team is expected to focus on investigating whether former President Yoon exerted external pressure on candidate selection through Representative Yoon. After analyzing the seized evidence, the team plans to summon and question key figures such as Representative Yoon, former lawmaker Kim, and Mr. Myung.
