Held at Gosanjayeon Recreation Forest from September 26 to 28
Wanju County in North Jeolla Province has conducted capacity-building training for booth operators of the Wanju Wild & Local Food Festival.
According to the county on July 8, this training was designed to improve the quality of booth operations that introduce visitors to the county's cultural experiences, food, and local agricultural specialties at the festival venue.
The training began with a flash mob performance of the festival's signature 'Wafu Song,' which helped create a lively atmosphere on site. It then continued with practical sessions focusing on general festival information, hygiene and safety management, and service mindset. In particular, an interactive service training session under the theme "Each Booth Is the Festival" received an enthusiastic response from participants.
Before the training began, participants wrote their motivations for joining and any questions they had on a communication board prepared in advance and posted them. The training emphasized creating a festival together by communicating with visitors based on these questions and real-life examples. One booth operator who participated in the training shared, "The interactive nature of the training resonated with me, and it was an opportunity to reflect on my attitude toward the festival."
County Governor Yoo Heetae stated, "The Wild & Local Food Festival is the county's flagship festival, created together with local residents. Since each booth operator represents the face of Wanju County, I hope everyone will join in making the festival a satisfying experience for all through friendly service, fair pricing, and warm hospitality."
Meanwhile, the 13th Wanju Wild & Local Food Festival will be held from September 26 to 28 at the Gosanjayeon Recreation Forest. A wide range of wild experiences such as bare-handed fish catching, grasshopper catching, blazing oven grilling, and the Little Wafu Tribe, as well as exciting activities like Sirangcheon water play and tree extreme, will be offered in the county's pristine natural environment. Visitors can also enjoy healthy local cuisine prepared by 13 towns and townships, as well as agricultural and specialty products produced in the region.
