Plaque Unveiling Ceremony Held at the National Assembly Today...

Opposition: "Numerous Illegal and Unlawful Issues Since Prime Minister Kim Minseok"
The People Power Party launched the "Public Verification Center for Public Office Candidates of the Lee Jaemyung Administration" on July 8, ahead of the confirmation hearings for ministerial nominees. The center is set to verify the nominees' morality and policy capabilities.
Song Eonseok, interim leader and floor leader of the People Power Party, held a plaque unveiling ceremony at the National Assembly following a party strategy meeting. He stated, "Personnel disasters in the Lee Jaemyung administration continue," and added, "We will thoroughly scrutinize the ministerial nominees during the confirmation hearings together with the public."
Song emphasized, "Ever since Kim Minseok was nominated for Prime Minister, there have been numerous illegal and unlawful issues that the public cannot accept. Nevertheless, the Prime Minister was appointed, and now the ministerial nominees are pushing forward recklessly. They believe that simply withholding the documents the public wants and ignoring the process is sufficient."
Yoo Sangbeom, deputy floor leader and head of the Public Verification Center, pointed out, "The uncooperative attitude shown by Prime Minister Kim during his confirmation hearing is now affecting the ministerial nominees as well."
Yoo added, "They refuse to submit documents, refuse to address suspicions, and insist on responding only during the confirmation hearings. We ask the public to provide any necessary information so we can conduct a thorough verification."
The center includes opposition party secretaries from standing committees such as the Education Committee, Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee, Trade, Industry, Energy, SMEs and Startups Committee, and Health and Welfare Committee, all of whom are preparing for the ministerial confirmation hearings. In addition, experts from academia and industry will participate as the "Public Verification Team" to conduct verification of the ministerial nominees.
Meanwhile, the confirmation hearings for the first nominees of the Lee Jaemyung administration will officially begin on July 14. On that day, hearings are scheduled for Kang Sunwoo, nominee for Minister of Gender Equality and Family; Bae Kyunghoon, nominee for Minister of Science and ICT; and Chung Dongyoung, nominee for Minister of Unification. On July 15, hearings are set for Kwon Oeul, nominee for Minister of Patriots and Veterans Affairs; Han Seongsook, nominee for Minister of SMEs and Startups; and Kim Seonghwan, nominee for Minister of Environment. On July 16, a hearing for Kim Younghoon, nominee for Minister of Employment and Labor, is also scheduled.
