Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance Launches "Golden Time Surgery Comprehensive Insurance" with Payouts Proportional to Surgery Duration

Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance announced on July 8 that it will launch the "Golden Time Surgery Comprehensive Insurance," which pays insurance benefits in proportion to the duration of general anesthesia during surgery.

This product moves away from the traditional coverage focused on diagnosis, hospitalization, and surgery, and instead subdivides insurance payments based on the length of general anesthesia during surgery. It was developed to make compensation standards easier to understand, as previous surgical coverage was often based on the number of diseases or the complexity of the surgery, which could be difficult for customers to grasp.

The policy features a comprehensive structure that covers not only diseases but also injuries. If the duration of general anesthesia exceeds three hours, the insurance payout increases for each additional hour. If the policyholder is enrolled in both general hospital and advanced general hospital coverage, they can receive up to 100 million KRW per surgery.

Through the "Premium Refund (100%·50%)" rider, if the policyholder does not undergo any general anesthesia surgery exceeding three hours until maturity, they can receive a refund of the premiums paid for general anesthesia surgery coverage according to the selected refund rate (100% or 50%).

In addition to coverage for general anesthesia and various surgeries, this product also provides broad protection for related medical expenses before and after surgery, including examinations, hospitalization, nursing care, rehabilitation, and major treatments.

Eligibility for enrollment ranges from age 15 to 90. Policy terms are available in 10-year, 15-year, and 20-year renewable options. Contract types include Standard Type (Type 1), No-Claim 100% Refund Type (Type 2), and No-Claim 50% Refund Type (Type 3).
