Lotte Open Victory Points Earned on KLPGA Tour
Korda, Thitikul, and Lydia Ko Maintain Top 3
Yoo Haeran 5th, Kim Hyojoo 11th, Ko Jin-young 14th
Park Hyejun has risen to 103rd in the world rankings.
In the women's golf weekly world rankings announced on July 7 (local time), she earned 1.16 points, jumping 53 spots from 156th place last week. She accumulated these points by capturing her first-ever victory at the Lotte Open on the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour last week.
Park Hyejun spent her junior years in Australia and joined the KLPGA Tour in August 2021. However, she lost her tour card the following year and played on the Dream (second division) Tour in 2023. After overcoming various challenges, she returned to the regular tour last year and boosted her confidence by finishing runner-up at the Doosan Construction We’ve Championship, the domestic season opener. This season, she had been posting lackluster results, but after finishing tied for seventh?her first top-10 finish?at the McCall·Mona Yongpyong Open, which concluded on June 29, she finally celebrated victory at this event.
Since there was no LPGA Tour event last week, there was little change among the top-ranked players. Nelly Korda (USA), Atthaya Thitikul (Thailand), and Lydia Ko (New Zealand) maintained their positions in the top three. However, Kim Hyojoo dropped from ninth to eleventh, leaving only one Korean player, Yoo Haeran, ranked fifth, inside the top ten. Ko Jin-young is ranked 14th, Choi Hyejin 24th, Yang Heeyoung 26th, Lee Yewon 30th, Yoon Yina 31st, Lim Jinhui 32nd, Kim Arim 33rd, Shin Jiae 39th, and Hwang Yumin is in 41st place.
