Samsung Electronics Unveils One UI 8 Security Features Ahead of Unpacked Event... Enhanced Protection for Personalized AI

Introduction of New Security Solution 'KEEP'... Protecting Personalized AI
Quantum-resistant Encryption Technology Added to Secure Wi-Fi
Official Version to be Installed on Galaxy Z Fold7 and Flip7

On July 8, Samsung Electronics announced that it will equip its new foldable devices with the official version of One UI 8, which features enhanced security and privacy protection. On July 9, the company will hold an Unpacked event in New York, United States, where it will unveil new products such as the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Flip7.

First, Samsung Electronics has introduced a new security solution in One UI 8 called 'KEEP (Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection),' which strengthens on-device privacy protection.

The newly introduced KEEP was developed to protect personalized AI features, reflecting the increased use of artificial intelligence (AI). KEEP creates an encrypted storage space for each app within the device's secure storage area.

Encrypted information is individually protected, so each app can only access its own sensitive data and cannot access information from other apps. This ensures that personal data cannot be accessed by apps other than Galaxy AI. Sensitive information such as a user's daily routines and preferences, which are learned through the Personal Data Engine (PDE), is also protected.

User privacy data is stored only on the device and is protected by KEEP, which utilizes Knox Vault, the foundation of Galaxy security.

The 'Knox Matrix,' which provides threat detection and protection for connected devices, has also been enhanced. In One UI 8, if a device faces a serious threat, it will automatically log out of the Samsung account, blocking access to Samsung account-based services. At the same time, a notification will be sent to the user's Galaxy device, enabling the user to take security-related actions.

Quantum-resistant encryption technology has also been newly introduced to 'Secure Wi-Fi' to further enhance security. This feature includes: 'Automatic Wi-Fi Protection,' which activates automatically in public places to protect Wi-Fi connections without any user intervention; 'Enhanced Privacy Protection (EPP),' which prevents tracking by encrypting and anonymizing traffic; and a network protection record that allows users to see how their personal information is being protected while in use.

Previously, Samsung Electronics was the first in the industry to introduce quantum-resistant encryption technology in the Galaxy S25 series. Quantum-resistant encryption refers to encryption technology that remains secure even against attacks from quantum computers.

Existing features such as automatic blocking of security threats and protection for stolen devices, which were provided in previous versions of One UI, will continue to be offered.

One UI 8 will be applied starting with these new foldable products and will gradually be expanded to other devices in the future.
