[Winner's Club] Campbell Triumphs with New Ping Weapon

Second Win of the Season with John Deere Classic Playoff Victory

Brian Campbell (USA) made headlines with his Ping 3-wood.

On July 6 (local time), at the TPC Deere Run (par 71) in Silvis, Illinois, USA, Campbell defeated Emiliano Grillo (Argentina) in a playoff at the PGA Tour John Deere Classic (total prize money: $8.4 million). This marks his second career victory, coming five months after his first win at the Mexico Open in February. He earned a winner's prize of $1,512,000 (approximately 2.07 billion KRW).

Campbell said, "I don't know what just happened. It doesn't feel real," and added, "If I could say something to myself at this moment, it would be, 'You really have to dig deep and believe in yourself.' It's difficult in reality, but today I did it," he cheered.

Campbell made changes to his club setup ahead of this tournament. He switched to the latest model of the Ping LST 3-wood (15 degrees), changing from the G430 to the G440. The 3-wood performed perfectly. On the final day of the tournament, at the 17th hole (par 5), he pulled out his new weapon for his second shot. With 277 yards remaining, he used the Ping G440 LST 3-wood to land the ball 5.6 meters from the hole, made a birdie, and joined the playoff, eventually securing the victory.

Campbell also carried the yet-to-be-released Ping iDi driving iron in his bag. This model is more compact than the previous iCrossover driving iron. He said, "Honestly, after my first win, I struggled with injuries and had to withdraw from several tournaments, which was a tough period. I enjoy the very moment when I try to solve any shot. Even if my distance isn't overwhelming, and even if my irons aren't always perfect, I believe I can win by reading and calculating the course well."
