The 32nd Asian Junior Squash Championships 2025, held from July 1 to July 5 at the squash courts and indoor tennis courts within Gimcheon Sports Town, concluded successfully.

This event was co-hosted by the Asian Squash Federation (ASF), the Korea Squash Federation, and Gimcheon City. It was especially significant as it marked the first time in 17 years that the Asian Junior Squash Championships were held in South Korea.

A total of 426 junior athletes under the age of 19 (U-19) from 17 Asian countries participated in the tournament, engaging in intense competition over four days.

The opening ceremony took place on June 30, with delegations from around the world in attendance. It featured cultural and artistic performances from Gimcheon City and was held in a grand manner. During the tournament, Gimcheon’s advanced sports infrastructure and stable management system received high praise from both domestic and international officials.

Notably, national team athlete Najuyeo, representing Korea, demonstrated her world-class skills once again by finishing as runner-up in this tournament, following her previous runner-up finish at the World Junior Squash Championships.

On the final day of the event, July 5, an exchange banquet was held, bringing together athletes from various countries. This meaningful occasion fostered cultural exchange and friendship, while also highlighting Gimcheon’s image as an international city through sports.

Gimcheon Mayor Bae Nakho stated, "This tournament was a valuable time for Asian youth to unite and share culture, going beyond sports. Gimcheon City will continue to attract international competitions and grow as a global sports hub city."

Building on its successful experience hosting the Asian Weightlifting Championships, the Badminton Asia Championships, and the National Sports Festival, Gimcheon City plans to further accelerate its efforts to attract various upcoming international sports events.
