On July 7, Gyeonggi Province held the second meeting of the Provincial Administrative Innovation Committee at the Gyeonggi Institute of Economics and Science in Gwanggyo Techno Valley, Suwon. The meeting was presided over by Kim Sungjung, the First Vice Governor for Administrative Affairs, and included a review of the status of the implementation of the 8th popularly elected administration's pledges, as well as discussions on future management strategies.
The Gyeonggi Province Administrative Innovation Committee was established in December 2022 to provide advice and monitor the progress of the 8th administration's pledges. The second committee, launched in February this year, is chaired by the First Vice Governor for Administrative Affairs and consists of around 20 members, including experts in fields such as economy, employment, welfare, climate, and youth, as well as directors of provincial departments and heads of public institutions.
The meeting included reports on the progress of the 8th administration's pledge implementation and strategies for promoting key policies. Discussions focused on systematic monitoring and efficient management of pledge implementation, as well as approaches to policy promotion that residents can directly experience.
As of the end of last year, Gyeonggi Province had completed or was continuing to pursue 178 out of 295 action items, achieving a pledge implementation rate of 60.3%.
This is 8.72 percentage points higher than the national average of 51.62%. The province also secured 81.94% of the planned budget for the term, the highest rate among 15 provinces and metropolitan cities nationwide (excluding Daegu, which is vacant, and Daejeon, which was not evaluated).

The committee members emphasized the importance of practical measures to improve the pledge implementation rate, as well as effective promotional strategies to ensure that outstanding policy achievements are properly communicated to residents. In particular, they selected 22 promotional tasks across various fields, including the Gyeonggi Small Business HimnaeGO Card, the 0.5&0.75 Job Project, Climate Insurance, the Pangyo+20 Venture Startup Cluster, Climate Action Opportunity Income, The Gyeonggi Pass, and the Caregiver SOS Project, and discussed directions for their promotion.
Gyeonggi Province plans to incorporate the diverse perspectives and suggestions presented by experts from each field of the Administrative Innovation Committee into future provincial administration through consultations with relevant departments.
Kim Sungjung, the First Vice Governor for Administrative Affairs, stated, "Through this meeting, we were able to objectively review the status of the 8th administration's pledge implementation and receive constructive suggestions based on the expertise of the committee members. I ask for the committee's continued interest and advice so that Gyeonggi Province's outstanding pledges and policies can be implemented more effectively and widely publicized to residents, and I will ensure that the committee's valuable opinions are reflected in provincial administration."
