Netmarble announced on July 7 that it has unveiled the first teaser video for its new title, 'Solo Leveling: KARMA', at Anime Expo, the largest comic and animation event in North America.
'Solo Leveling: KARMA' is an action role-playing game (RPG) based on the popular Korean animation 'Solo Leveling', and is currently being developed for mobile and PC platforms.
The game features the protagonist, Sung Jinwoo, returning to the past using the 'Cup of Reincarnation'?an element not fully detailed in the original work?and depicts his 27-year-long monarch war saga spent in the 'Dimensional Rift'. By incorporating some roguelike elements, the game offers a unique combat experience and the fun of item collection that changes with every playthrough.
A Netmarble representative stated, "The game is characterized by battles that deliver immersion and the fun of controls in each round, as well as the combination of growth and farming elements, making it easily accessible to everyone." The representative also added, "We plan to release more detailed information about 'Solo Leveling: KARMA' through the brand page and social networking services (SNS) in the future."
The teaser video showcases Sung Jinwoo's action scenes utilizing a variety of weapons, battles featuring his shadow army, and appearances by major monsters from the original work such as the 'Statue of the Cartenon Temple', 'Demon King Baran', 'Cerberus', and 'Volcan', as well as original story content.
