Jung Hyunseop Urges Safety Precautions
for Temporary Workers and Visitors
Amid Heatwave
Jinhae District of Changwon Special City in South Gyeongsang Province visited Sosa Park Golf Course and Yongwon Park Golf Course on July 7 to inspect the park golf course facilities in preparation for the summer heatwave, in order to protect the health and safety of citizens amid the ongoing heatwave.
Jinhae District, 'Strengthening Safety Inspections and Preventive Measures for Park Golf Course in Preparation for Heatwave'.
This inspection aimed to secure the safety of users and workers during the heatwave and to prevent accidents caused by the extreme heat. The district carefully checked the heatwave preparedness of park golf courses, which are mainly used by the elderly, a group particularly vulnerable to health risks, and thoroughly reviewed whether any additional improvements were needed.
The main inspection items included: facility safety checks (ensuring shaded rest areas), provision of water and rest spaces, safety guidance and promotion, adjustment and restriction of operating hours, and strengthening of emergency response systems. The district also sought solutions together with heads of relevant departments.
Jung Hyunseop, head of Jinhae District Office, stated, "Since park golf courses are primarily used by elderly visitors, more meticulous attention and management are required. We will do our utmost to ensure the safety of users and prevent even a single accident in preparation for natural disasters such as summer heatwaves." He also urged, "We ask all users to refrain from outdoor activities when a heatwave advisory is issued, and to ensure adequate hydration and proper rest."
