Cheongdo County (Governor Kim Hasu) announced that it will be accepting additional applications for the "Cheongdo Manwon Housing Project," a vacant house remodeling support program, from July 7 to July 25.
The Cheongdo Manwon Housing Project, being implemented for the first time this year, provides subsidies to owners of vacant houses that have not been occupied or used for more than one year within the county. If the owner signs a lease agreement with a tenant (monthly rent of 10,000 won, mandatory six-year lease period) and directly carries out the remodeling, they are eligible to receive financial support.
Currently, four households are participating in the project.
The scope of remodeling includes windows and doors, insulation, roofing, kitchen, bathroom, and both interior and exterior finishes. The county will provide up to 40 million won per household, with additional support planned for six more households.
Eligible tenants include returning farmers, returning residents, newlywed couples, and young people, who must register their residency in Cheongdo County and fulfill the mandatory six-year lease period.
The recruitment of tenants will proceed sequentially through public announcements after the project participants are finalized.
Owners of vacant houses within the county who wish to participate in the project can apply by visiting the Civil Affairs and Architectural Design Team or the relevant town or township office where the vacant house is located.
Detailed information about the project and the required documents can also be found in the public notice section on the Cheongdo County Office website.
Kim Hasu, Governor of Cheongdo County, stated, "The Cheongdo Manwon Housing Project was established to improve living conditions and respond to the crisis of local extinction by attracting new residents. I strongly encourage interested applicants to actively apply so that the support can be truly effective."
