Jeong Cheongrae, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, emphasized at the book concert held on the 6th, "The rebellion is not yet over. We must hold those responsible fully accountable to ensure that such tragic events never happen again."

The book concert for "A Nation Protected by the People," which tells the behind-the-scenes story of the impeachment trial of Yoon Sukyeol, written directly by Jeong Cheongrae, the impeachment prosecutor for the 12·3 Rebellion, and 17 members of his legal team, was held at 2 p.m. on the same day at the Kim Daejung Convention Center in Gwangju.

At the event, Jeong stated, "Honam saved the Republic of Korea. The 5·18 Democratization Movement stopped the illegal emergency martial law in 2024. Without you, neither the martial law would have been stopped nor the impeachment achieved. I am truly grateful," and added, "Nevertheless, the rebellion is still ongoing. Forgiveness and unity begin with accountability. With the same sense of responsibility and determination that led to the impeachment of Yoon Sukyeol, I will ensure that the rebellion is completely ended within this year."

Kim Yi-su, Chairman of Chosun University and the National Assembly's lead counsel during the impeachment trial, stressed the need to punish those involved in the rebellion, saying, "The rebellion is not over. Even after extinguishing the main fire, we must thoroughly deal with the embers to prevent it from reigniting."

Park Jie-won, who attended the event, said, "If it had not been for Jeong Cheongrae, Yoon Sukyeol would not have been impeached," and added, "Let us support Jeong Cheongrae again and ask him to take care of Gwangju and Jeonnam."

More than 60 people, including lawmakers such as Park Jie-won, Joo Cheolhyeon, Min Hyungbae, Park Kyuntaek, and Kim Won-i, as well as heads of local governments and city, county, and district council members, attended the event. In addition, about 2,000 citizens filled the venue, clearly demonstrating Honam's aspiration for democracy.
