Kyobo Bookstore Launches "Reading is in Season in Summer" Event... Premieres Summer Short Stories

Summer Sentences, NFC Keyring, and Harry Potter eBooks

Kyobo Bookstore announced on July 7 that it will be holding the "Reading is in Season in Summer" event until August 31, allowing readers to enjoy the essence of summer through books as the real heat of July begins. The event features summer-themed works, audio content narrated by the authors themselves, and a summer playlist.

Five authors, including Kim Yeonsu, Kim Shinhoe, and Park Eunji, participated in the content production, and three special summer short stories will be unveiled for the first time through this event. In addition, the event will present a "Summer Book Playlist" curated by the five authors themselves, as well as audio content in which they read their own works.


These contents can be accessed through a limited-edition good, the "Summer Fruit NFC Keyring," which is available to those who purchase paper books worth 30,000 won or more at Kyobo Bookstore during the event period. By tagging the keyring with a smartphone, users can view the content. This DIY-assembly keyring includes two randomly selected summer fruit charms, and it can also be experienced at Kyobo Bookstore's new store, Onegrove Branch.

During the event period, the entire Harry Potter series will be available at a 10% discounted price, and both the Korean translation and English versions can be purchased. There will also be a "Summer Original Book Special Exhibition," introducing English and American original novels by theme. The event recommends Western books suitable for summer reading to a wide range of readers, from teenagers just starting to study original texts to those in their 20s to 50s.
