Increase of 52.5 Billion Won
Focus on Key Projects and Stabilizing Residents' Livelihoods
Hamyang County in South Gyeongsang Province announced on July 7 that it has submitted its first supplementary budget for 2025 to the county council. The total budget is set at 733.5 billion won, an increase of 52.5 billion won from the original budget of 681 billion won.
According to the county, this supplementary budget was structured by reducing expenditures through budget restructuring. The primary focus is on advancing key projects of the eighth popularly elected administration, stabilizing the livelihoods of county residents, and preventing disasters.
By sector, the increases in expenditure are as follows: 14.9 billion won for agriculture, forestry, maritime, and fisheries; 10.5 billion won for land and regional development; 7 billion won for public order and safety; 6.7 billion won for the environment; and 4.8 billion won for culture and tourism.
Major projects include: 4.5 billion won for natural disaster and flood-prone area improvement projects; 3.6 billion won for the construction of Hamyang Sports Park; 3.5 billion won for the establishment of cultural welfare urban infrastructure in Hamyang; 3.1 billion won for the construction of LPG pipeline networks in towns and townships (Anui-myeon); 2.8 billion won for the expansion of the Anui public sewage treatment facility; 1.6 billion won for the second pilot project in the special education development zone; and 1.4 billion won for the construction of dormitories for agricultural workers.
A county official stated, "Despite limited financial resources, we have prioritized allocating the budget to key projects of the eighth administration and initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life for residents. As soon as the budget is finalized, we will promptly move forward with the planned projects."
Meanwhile, this supplementary budget proposal will be finalized after deliberation and approval at the 293rd temporary session of the Hamyang County Council, scheduled to be held from July 14 to July 18.
