International Forum Held
Universities and Study Abroad Agencies Sign Consecutive MOUs
Gyeongnam Information University has begun actively attracting global talent for long-term study by hosting a series of study abroad fairs and international forums in Vietnam.
On July 4, Gyeongnam Information University held the 'KIT Study Abroad Fair' and the 'KIT International Governance Establishment Forum' at the Sheraton Hotel in Hanoi, Vietnam, creating a platform for exchange with 67 local organizations, including prospective students, universities, and study abroad agencies.
In the morning, an inauguration ceremony was held for an international cooperative organization aimed at training global professional caregivers, along with the study abroad fair. Faculty from seven departments?including Hotel Tourism, Electric Hydrogen Vehicles, and K-Beauty?participated in person to introduce their majors, provide admissions counseling, and explain scholarship systems. Local students and parents visited the counseling booths to obtain practical information about studying in Korea.
At the subsequent international forum, presentations and Q&A sessions were held on Gyeongnam Information University's strategies for attracting international students, changes in Korean visa policies, and trends in Vietnamese students studying abroad. The university drew interest from participating organizations by awarding certificates to sister universities and study abroad agencies, as well as proposing practical cooperation measures such as joint promotion, information sharing, and scholarship system improvements.
This event was part of an international education exchange project jointly planned by Busan Metropolitan City and Gyeongnam Information University. The two institutions aim to strengthen relationships with sister universities and study abroad agencies in Vietnam, with the goal of building a sustainable global cooperation ecosystem.
Prior to this, from July 1 to 3, Gyeongnam Information University signed memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with local institutions such as VRC1 (Better No.1 Vocational College) and Thuyloi University (TLU). The university is also visiting local study abroad agencies in Ho Chi Minh City and will continue holding information sessions for prospective students through July 9.
Honggil Kim, Director of International Exchange at Gyeongnam Information University, emphasized, "This study abroad fair and international forum served as an opportunity to move beyond simple promotion and concretize a sustainable study abroad ecosystem and cooperative governance," adding, "We will expand our global education base, focusing on Southeast Asia, and pursue the recruitment of international talent in a more sophisticated manner."
