Dongkook Pharmaceutical announced on July 7 that it has launched "MyFit KeyHappy," the first children's height growth health functional food under its nutrition brand "MyFit."
"MyFit KeyHappy" contains Lactobacillus-fermented oyster extract (FGO), which has been recognized by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety for its functional benefits in supporting height growth in children during their growth period. This extract is an individually approved ingredient derived from oysters, known as the "milk of the sea," and is processed through enzyme decomposition and lactobacillus fermentation. In a 24-week human clinical trial conducted on Korean children, the group that consumed the product grew by 3.78 cm, and their height increased by an additional 0.87 cm compared to the non-consumption group, showing statistically significant results versus the control group. Notably, the trial also confirmed significant improvements in growth indicators, such as a faster height velocity (HV), an increase in height standard deviation score (SDS), and confirmation of insulin-like growth factor-binding protein 3 (IGFBP-3), compared to the control group.
