This new poetry collection consists of 80 works that Dr. Shin has serialized in "Monthly Korea National Treasure Literature." In addition to his career as a Korean medicine doctor, he has consistently pursued writing as a literary figure. He has previously published poetry collections such as "At the Turning Point of Life," "Millennium Flower," and "A Good Day for Poetry," as well as several essay collections, including "There Is No Tree That Grows Without Rain," "It Is Possible to Fully Recover from a Herniated Disc Without Surgery," and "Tonic for the Body, Tonic for the Mind."
Kim Houn, Chairman of the Korean Writers' Association, shared in his recommendation for "A Stroll in the Garden of the Heart," "Dr. Shin's sense of duty to protect people's bodies and minds is akin to the essence of literature, which explores humanity and nature," adding, "I hope this poetry collection will bring fragrance to people and make the world even more beautiful."
Poet and literary critic Kim Jeon explained in his commentary on the works, "This poetry collection reads as naturally and comfortably as flowing water, while a profound philosophy and truth permeate the entire collection," and added, "By weaving scenes of life into poetic symbols and metaphors, it will deliver deep empathy, resonance, and enlightenment to readers."
Meanwhile, Dr. Shin is a full member of the Literary World Writers' Association and has been widely recognized for his literary achievements, receiving numerous literary awards such as the Grand Prize at the 10th Literary World Literary Awards, the Writer of the Year Award at the 19th World Literature Awards, and the Grand Prize at the 14th Korea Literary Newspaper Literary Awards. Notably, last year he also received the New Literary Award in the novel category from "Monthly Korea National Treasure Literature."
